I was wondering if anyone has ever successfully done a somersault on the line, I have been working on it for a little while and am getting close to sticking it, just curious if its been done and if so what was the process?

Both forward and back flips have been done line to line. I'm not sure the difference between a flip vs somersault but the YouTube videos available on the web will probably get you pointed in the right direction as far as additional tips. If you do manage to nail it, try to get a video, we'd love to see it or even host it for you.
